Objectives

ICHIN has started its operations under an increasingly multipolar world environment, with China’s fostering role in its configuration. The pandemic triggered by the spread of  Covid-19 seems to have accelerated this process of geopolitical transformation.

China ranks second in the World in economic terms, and would become – as shown by countless material and expert indicators – the first world power in a relatively short time. China stands out in the science and technology scenario with: the recent landing on the dark side of the Moon; the early implementation of  5G technology; the creation of in-numerous innovation centres in areas such as AI, robotics, nanotechnology and neuro-technology. The structuring, since 2013, of a complex network of commercial, technological, and cultural exchange called New Silk Road, centered in China, as in the past, provides the Asian giant with evident competitive advantages that may be multiplied.

China has been Brazil’s main trading partner since 2009,  and, at the moment, with the severe global economic crisis and China’s resilient recovery this partnership tends to consolidate.

In this sense, we considered the existence of an international context and favorable conditions for the development of a project like ICHIN/UFSC. We address all people who are interested, from an academic background or from civil society, to get in contact with us through our email to receive more information.
